Welcome

I welcome you to the Victory Park Academy website. As part of the Parallel Learning Trust, we are able to work within trust schools, ensuring that our staff are able to deliver the highest educational standards.

We hope the website provides enough information for you to sense the flavour of what Victory Park Academy has to offer young people and their families.

Our aims are to be fully inclusive and give our pupils a second chance to maximise their learning potential academically and socially. Regardless of circumstance, we aim to make all of our young people successful. Our pupils are supported to reflect on their experiences to further improve and to have the determination to develop the resilience they need as they prepare for adult life.

We aim for all of our learners to make outstanding progress across the academic and every member of staff is dedicated to achieve this. To help us achieve our aim we work closely with our families to ensure that all our students are committed to learning and develop the character necessary to take advantage of the opportunities provided.

Victory Park Academy is an alternative provision providing full time education that supports up to 101 pupils aged 5 to 16, who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream schools. We provide an “Opportunity for Success” and we work in partnership with the LA Inclusion; local schools; Virtual Schools and Outreach to ensure an inclusive and supportive education provision.

We also offer alternative short stay pathways for pupils attending Southend schools and requiring some time out of mainstream settings due to experiencing social, emotional or mental health difficulties. These are usually for 12 weeks placements for both primary and secondary pupils with a clear intention of these pupils returning to mainstream setting.

Our broad and balanced curriculum underpins our ethos of creativity, innovation and mastering of the basics: reading, writing, communication and mathematics.

Please do not hesitate to contact at info@victorypark.org.uk if you would like to visit our academy or need any further information about our Academy.

Important Information

VPA was working with Essex Violence and Vulnerability Unit (VVU) regarding evaluation activity for the Home Office, particularly the filming of some of our young people as well as teachers/coaches etc.

The paper has now been published (20th December 2023) – whilst most of the content remains anonymised and covers all VVUs, most notably however is the reference to Victory Park Academy and Southend Combat in Case Study 1, which can be found within Annex B of the paper – please see link here - Violence Reduction Units 2022 to 2023 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Parent Comments

“My child is happy, that’s makes me happy”

“My daughter refused to attend school, since starting at Victory Park Academy she now attends regularly.”

“I am very happy with the structure of the Academy, lots of rewards and positive phone calls home, which has had a definite positive effect on my child’s learning and attitude."

“I did not want my child to attend Victory Park Academy because of the bad reputation it has! I was so wrong. I am seeing my child wanting to attend School, he is happy and a very different child. Please can you thank all the staff”.

“I have a happy 13-year-old who is flourishing in confidence and learning to be more independent. My child would dread going to school, it was a constant battle every morning, he lacked motivation, confidence & had low self-esteem. When he started at the Academy, I was very unsure what to expect, as the school did not have a good reputation.   My child has exceeded all my expectations, he Talks, laughs & takes part in different activities at the Academy. To all Victory Park Academy staff a big thank-you."
